(ctrl+shift+p starts the vscode command prompt)

press ctrl+shift+p then type in run task
run should appear as an option, select it.
if successful, a new task window will pop up on the bottom that says ⇨ http server started on [::]:8080
alternatively, start a terminal (ctrl+) and type in the command go run main.go`
