Documentation ¶
Overview ¶
grpc/protobuf generates both clients and servers from a proto spec. It provides an interface that you implement. The grpc server calls the methods on that interface automatically. The input and output match the protobuf definitions. An (optional) grpc-gateway can be generated, which proxies and translates REST/JSON calls into gRPC calls. An (optional) OpenAPI v2 spec can be generated, which can then be translated into a v3 spec by a variety of tools. Well-Known-Types are extremely important to know about, but don't receive enough documentation. Errors and return codes are handled by returning a RPC Status object.
