txt-ink
This is a toy project for use with the Pimoroni Inky pHat.
We have two applications that work together. The Go app txt
is a simple web server that writes text to an image file. The Python app ink
takes the image and draws it on the pHat using the Pimonori inky library. They can be glued together with a watch script that automatically runs txt
when ink
updates the image file.
Building
Building the GoLang app locally is as simple as running go build
. Use the ARMv6 compile flags to build a binary that will be deployed onto a Raspberry Pi: GOARM=6 GOARCH=arm GOOS=linux go build -o txt-ink-armv6
.
Installing
Run the ./install.sh
script to build, copy the files to a remote destination, and then setup the systemd services.
