= dcmdump

A little script to dump the metadata of a dcm file.

== DCM file

The link:http://dicom.nema.org/medical/dicom/current/output/chtml/part10/chapter_7.html[DICOM File Format] Specifies a preamble of 128 bytes set to `00H` and then four bytes containing the character string "DICM".

The rest of the DICOM file is composed of Data Sets, the link:http://dicom.nema.org/dicom/2013/output/chtml/part05/chapter_7.html[Data Set] is described by the standard.
